Who is Married to Whom? - Answer

Jimmy is married to Tess. Ben is married to Rose.

First, assume "Zaat" means "Yes" and "Zoot" means "No." Then Chuck said that Ben is married to Tess. Pam said that she is married to Chuck. And Jimmy said that he is not married to Rose.

Pam, then, can't be single and must be married to Jimmy or Ben. But if Pam is married to Jimmy, Jimmy couldn't have said what he did. And if Pam is married to Ben, then Chuck lied and he is married and Jimmy is single. But you still wouldn't know if Tess of Rose is single.

So assume that "Zaat" means "No" and "Zoot" means "Yes." Then Chuck said that Ben is not married to Tess. Pam said that she is not married to Chuck. And Jimmy said that he is married to Rose.

Jimmy must be single. Pam is either married to Chuck or she is single. Chuck is either single and Ben is not married to Tess OR Chuck is married and Ben is married to Tess.

It isn't possible for Chuck to be married. If Chuck is single, then Pam is single. Jimmy is married to Tess and Ben is married to Rose.
